The Armas Nacionais, or Brasao da Republica, is the Brazilian national flag. The Brasao da Repblica do Brazil logo was designed by Artur Zauer and is used by the military, three branches of government, and the President. It consists of the escudo redondo azul-celeste and is the focal point of a circular emblem in Cruzeiro do Sul. The espada is placed in the center of the logo, which stands for the "Republica Federativa do Brasil".

The escudo consists of a redondo azul celeste field and a five-pointed star. The espada is topped with the Cruzeiro do Sul symbol, a coroa of coffee rams and fume flowers, and a resplendence of ouro. Lastly, the escudo contains the legend Republica Federativa do Brasil. The escudo was created on 15 November 1889, so it was only fitting that the Brazilian flag carry a date that commemorates this important milestone.

The rams in the cintureiro symbolise the republican and representative value of Brazil. The rams represent the families at the time of the proclamation of the nation.
