About Escudo de Colombia

A highly detailed, heraldic coat of arms centered on a traditional shield. A large black-and-gray Andean condor with outstretched wings sits atop the shield and holds a flowing gold ribbon bearing the motto “Libertad y Orden.” The shield is vertically tricoloured with red edges and a central blue field containing multiple small pictorial elements arranged in three horizontal sections.

Within the shield are gold, horn-like cornucopias or trophies in the upper compartment, a red Phrygian (liberty) cap mounted on a pole in the middle, and a lower sea scene with small white sailing ships and a green island/mountain. Yellow and red draped flag-like ribbons flare out behind the shield. Below the graphic is the wordmark text “Nuevo Escudo De Colombia.”
