IMSS Logo Information and History

The IMSS logo is a symbol of a medical society. The design of the logo was modified in the 1960s to eliminate all lettering. It was then replaced with a graphic of a woman holding a child. The image was drawn in a black, white, and gray gradient, creating a modern, sophisticated look. The eagle was also changed from its original design to the current one. The IMSS logo was originally designed by the IMSS company. The Mexican Institute of Social Security argued that the Chinese company had plagiarized its design. The IMSS legal team intervened and requested a new logo. The Chinese company was ordered to change the logo, but the Mexican Institute of Social Security is unmoved. This lawsuit reveals the power and influence of the Mexican Institute of Social Security. Its logo is widely recognized and symbolizes its brand and institution.

In 1992, the IMSS changed its visual identity. Although the shape of the logo remained unchanged, the use of a deep green shade improved its appeal. The color green represents growth and the dark green shade evokes the feeling of safety. The smooth, rounded lines of the bird help accentuate the new color scheme.
