About MasterCard Logo

The logo depicted represents MasterCard, a well-known financial services corporation. This iconic logo features two intersecting circles, one red on the left and one yellow on the right, with the overlapping area creating an orange shade. The circles are slightly overlapped to the right, emphasizing a sense of connection or transaction.

Within the orange central area, there are a series of red and yellow parallel horizontal lines that add a sense of motion or digital transaction to the design. These lines vary in length and are aligned to create a gradient from red to yellow, enhancing the visual blending of the two circles.

Below the graphical element, the word "MasterCard" is written in lowercase letters, with the exception of the first 'M' which is capitalized. The font is sans-serif, bold, and has a modern appearance, which suggests accessibility and professionalism. The text color is a dark shade of grey or black, contrasting well against the colorful background.

The entire logo is set against a transparent or white background, adaptable for various uses. At the bottom right of the word "MasterCard," there is a trademark symbol, indicating the logo's registered status.

MasterCard Logo Information and History

The new Mastercard logo has been introduced and is based on a geometric shape and color palette. It has two orange circles intersecting in the middle, and is used on payment cards, sponsorships, and in stores where the card is accepted. The logo has undergone a few changes over time, and the company's name was once written in the middle of the circles, or underneath them in a sans-serif font. The new logo will replace the original one by the middle of 2020.

In April 1990, the MasterCard logo underwent a change. The colours changed from red to yellow to emphasize the close relationship between the two companies. The title was also written in italics. The developers also concentrated on the yellow circle instead of the number of intersecting stripes. This change helped to make the logo look much more austere and minimalistic. The company also changed the wording in the logo, and this was a major change for the brand.

The new MasterCard logo aims to convey a more modern and simple message, while still maintaining the brand equity of the old logo. Besides that, the new logo could work across all digital platforms and retail channels. This could eventually make the symbol a globally recognized wordless logo, like Apple or Nike have done. However, there is a caveat. For example, the logo of the Apple or Target logo is more complex than the ones used by MasterCard.

Basic Colors

We've taken a look at the image and pulled out some colors that are common across lots of logos. The colors below aren't the exact colors found in the image, but approximations to common colors.

Red
Yellow
Silver
White

Advanced Colors

We've extracted the below 'advanced colors' from the logo. These should be much closer to the actual colors found in the logo. Our extractor tries to only take the main colors of the image and tries to ignore shading on anti-aliasing or shadows. This generally leads to better results, but in some circumstances you might find a few unusual colors being pulled from the logo.

Cherry red
Macaroni and cheese
Pale rose
Off white

Hex Colors

The below are the hex colors that are found in the logo. You can assume that these are the actual colors used in the logo. Our color extraction tool that takes the colors from the logo tries to ignore anti-aliasing and shadows, so you may sometimes find a slightly odd result, but this is rare. These colors should be very similar to the Advanced Colors, but you'll notice subtle differences. If you're interested in the exact color then use the hex, but if you're trying to describe the logo then use the Advanced Color or the Basic Color above.
