About Nintendo Logo

The logo consists of the word "Nintendo" in a stylized font, executed in a clean, bold, sans-serif typeface. The letters are in white against a red background. The logo's red background has a capsule-like shape with soft, rounded corners, much like a horizontal oval. There is a thin, white border that follows the contour of this red shape, creating a clear delineation between it and the outer elements. In the upper right corner, outside of the red area but inside the white border, is the registered trademark symbol (®) which is in red. The overall effect is a striking combination of red, white, and a splash of additional red from the trademark symbol. Nintendo Logo Information and History

The Nintendo logo first appeared on a toy called the Ultra Machine. The retro toy resembled a modern company logo, except it was written in red with a square dot above the "i." The Nintendo logo eventually migrated from the toy to all Nintendo products, despite the fact that it changed over the years. In 1968, the company changed the typeface of the logo, placing the "N" inside an oval or hexagon. The company continued to experiment with shapes and colors, changing its logo to look more contemporary.

The Nintendo logo has undergone dozens of changes throughout its long history. The colors of the letters and logo have changed dramatically throughout the years, including a change in font and size. In 2016, the company changed the logo to match the new color scheme. The new color scheme, however, focuses on a simpler color palette. The new blue and orange colors evoke the excitement of playing Nintendo games. But the old logo is still popular and remains one of the most recognizable video game companies.

The current Nintendo logo is asymmetrical, emphasizing the game console's Joy-Con controllers. It highlights the Joy-Con concept and keeps the color scheme simple and uncluttered. The logo's bold type has helped Nintendo gain millions of fans, and it continues to inspire fans to play their games. Asymmetrical logos are hard to pull off, but the Nintendo Switch logo manages to do it. The simplicity of this design makes it even more unique.

Basic Colors

We've taken a look at the image and pulled out some colors that are common across lots of logos. The colors below aren't the exact colors found in the image, but approximations to common colors.

Red
Silver
White

Advanced Colors

We've extracted the below 'advanced colors' from the logo. These should be much closer to the actual colors found in the logo. Our extractor tries to only take the main colors of the image and tries to ignore shading on anti-aliasing or shadows. This generally leads to better results, but in some circumstances you might find a few unusual colors being pulled from the logo.

Cherry red
Pale salmon
Very light pink

Hex Colors

The below are the hex colors that are found in the logo. You can assume that these are the actual colors used in the logo. Our color extraction tool that takes the colors from the logo tries to ignore anti-aliasing and shadows, so you may sometimes find a slightly odd result, but this is rare. These colors should be very similar to the Advanced Colors, but you'll notice subtle differences. If you're interested in the exact color then use the hex, but if you're trying to describe the logo then use the Advanced Color or the Basic Color above.
