The logo is circular in shape with an outer red border that contains white text. The upper half reads "INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD" and the lower half says "OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS." Encircling the inner design is a golden yellow ring with small triangles or rays along the outer edge that give it a somewhat starburst effect. Within this ring, there is another layer of text, at the top it says “AFFILIATED WITH” and at the bottom, there is “AFL-CIO & CANADIAN LABOUR CONGRESS.”
Inside this ring, the main field is a deep blue with two prominent features. At the very center is a clenched left fist, grasping a lightning bolt that is emitting three jagged streams of electricity. The fist and lightning bolt are rendered in a realistic style with white and yellow colors to represent the bright electric effect against the dark blue background. The date "NOV. 28, 1891," is positioned just below the fist and bolt, indicating the founding date of the organization.
Surrounding the central imagery, between the bolt and the golden ring, the rest of the blue field contains the full title of the organization in an arched fashion with white letters: "BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS" at the top and "ORGANIZED NOV. 28, 1891" at the bottom.
The entire design is enclosed by two concentric circles, the outermost being red and the innermost being golden, both separated by a thin white line from the central blue area. The overall color scheme consists of red, gold, blue, white, and hints of yellow.
