About Toronto Police Logo
The logo displayed is a detailed emblem consisting of several elements encapsulated within a round-shaped border. The border itself is gold with a thin blue outline. At the top of the circular border, there is a gold-colored sculpture of a creature that appears to be a beaver, situated above the shield.
Inside the boundary, there is a shield at the center, divided vertically into two halves by a thicker, downward-pointing red chevron design. Each half of the shield is a light blue color. On the wider upper part of each side of the chevron, there are smaller white shields outlined in gold, each with a dark red maple leaf at their center.
Above the upper point of the chevron and situated between the two smaller shields is a gold-colored crown. Below the crown and within the red chevron is a representation of a gold-colored caduceus—a staff entwined by two serpents and topped with wings—often associated with medicine and heraldry.
The shield is framed on both sides by a detailed golden laurel branch that starts from the bottom of the emblem and continues upward until mid-height of the shield. The branches appear to be tied together at the bottom of the shield.
Beneath the shield, on a blue background, the word "TORONTO" is arched along the top in bold, capital letters that are colored white with a subtle gold outline. Directly below the shield, "POLICE" is written in a similar font and style, but in a straight alignment.
The overall color scheme of the logo is gold, blue, white, and red, with emphasis on the gold and blue which appear to be the dominant colors. These elements together create a logo that is rich in detail and symbolism, reflecting authority, law enforcement, and the city of Toronto.
