About Universidad distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas Logo

The logo for Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas is primarily composed of black and white imagery featuring intricate details. The central motif is a shield split into four quadrants, each with distinctive elements. The top left quadrant displays a shield with a tree and a closed book, the top right holds a portrait of a man in profile, possibly a historical figure relevant to the institution. Below these images, the bottom quadrants contain text. The bottom left reads "ORBI VERITAS IBI LIBERIAS," which is Latin for "where there is truth, there is freedom." The bottom right quadrant showcases an emblem with a horizontal infinity symbol.

Surrounding these quadrants is text, with "UNIVERSITAS DISTRI TALIS" arched across the top and "FRANCIS" on the left side, "CIA JOSEPH" on the right side, and "CALDAS" at the bottom, clearly denoting the full name of the university. Decorative elements resembling acanthus leaves flank the sides of the shield, giving it a classic, almost baroque appearance.

Above the shield, a three-towered mural crown typical of heraldic crests relates to the university's status and prestige. Completing the logo is a banner-like scroll that wraps around the lower part of the crest from side to side, containing the text of the institution's name.

The intricate and formal design of the logo suggests a rich historical heritage and a serious academic focus, as is often associated with higher education inscriptions and heraldry.
