About Universitas Sanata Dharma Yogyakarta Logo

The logo in question features a predominantly yellow and black color scheme with touches of red and white. The outer shape is a circular badge with gentle notches around its edge, giving it a somewhat floral or sun-like appearance. The perimeter of the circle is outlined in black and contains the text "UNIVERSITAS SANATA DHARMA" in black capital letters on the top half and "YOGYAKARTA" in black capital letters on the bottom half. Between the two texts, small circular dots define the separation, maintaining the visual balance.

At the center of the logo, set against the yellow background, is an open book with white pages, outlined in black, suggesting it's an emblem of knowledge or learning. On the left page of the book, the phrase "Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam" is inscribed, which is in a slightly stylized black font. This text is a Latin phrase that means "For the Greater Glory of God", commonly associated with educational institutions that have a religious foundation or Jesuit affiliation.

Above the book, there is a red flame that sits centrally at the top of the book's spine, adding a vibrant contrast to the overall design. The flame is intricate, with subtle white spaces that give an impression of flickering or movement.

Just below the book, a black cross is positioned at the bottom of the book's spine, underlining the religious or spiritual dimension suggested by the phrase on the book's pages.

At the very bottom of the logo, two green laurel-like branches curve upwards from the bottom edge, framing the book and the words "YOGYAKARTA". Laurels typically symbolize achievement or victory and are a common motif in academic emblems.

The combination of these elements suggests that the institution values education, religiosity, and tradition, possibly with a Christian foundation or influence, as implied by the cross and the Latin phrase.
